A character study based on Noah John Rondeau, Mayor and sole occupant of Cold River City in the Adirondack mountains. Rondeau removed himself from society and lived in seclusion where he kept a series of diaries hidden in codes and ciphers. He documented lunar cycles and extensively recorded his fishing and hunting techniques. I created a series of illustrations based on Rondeau each of which was meticulously constructed line by line with text from Richard Smith's 'Life With Noah'. The text was then coded using a cipher so that each image could be deciphered to read a section of the book.
